to和普通的过去式有什么区别，used

used to +动词原形，过去常常做某事，其含义是，过去常做某事，但是现在不做了。

例如：

I used to get up at 5 o'clock in the morning，but now I get up at 6 o'clock.

我过去在5点钟起床，但是现在我6点起床了。

一般过去时态是指过去的某个时间发生的动作或者存在的状态。

例如：I got up at 5 o'clock last year.

我去年5点起床。

used to 强调过去的一种习惯性 简单过去式（did）则强调动作发生的瞬时性。

used to （do）是过去常常做某事普通过去式（did）过去做过某事，并且不强调对现在的影响这个是学英语的人常遇到的问题.注意语义和需要来使用就好.

关于used to的意义和用法：

used to (只有过去时形式，没有现在时形式)表示过去习惯动作或状态，这种情况现已不复存在。

例如：

He used to smoke a lot， but he has long given up smoking.

在否定陈述句或否定疑问句中，用didn’t use to或usedn’t to均可：

He didn’t use to smoke cigarettes.

He usedn’t to smoke cigarettes.

Didn’t Maria use to be interested in the theatre ?

Usedn’t Maria to be interested in the theatre ?

在肯定疑问句中也可有两种形式：

Used you to go to the same school as Edward ?

Did you use to go to the same school as Edward ?
